by Pamela Prather

A New Way to Think About Executive Presence

Every leader eventually reaches a moment where their usual preparation isn’t enough.

The room is watching.
The stakes are real.
And how you communicate matters just as much as what you say.

In The Executive Presence Playbook, Pamela Prather brings actor coaching techniques into the world of leadership, offering a practical, embodied approach to communication, leadership style, and professional development for those who are expected to perform under pressure.

This book reframes presence as a skillset: something that can be learned, practiced, and strengthened with intention. You will walk away with clarity on the components of executive presence,  self assessment of your growth opportunities and dynamic strategies to improve and connect with audiences in your most authentic and impactful voice.

About Pamela Prather

Hello there, I’m Pamela!

For more than 20 years, I’ve lived at the intersection of performance, voice, and communication. I’ve been an on-air talent, a tenured professor, an author, faculty for NYU and Yale School of Drama, and a voice and dialect coach for Tony and Academy Award–winning actors.

Along the way, something unexpected happened.

Executive leaders started showing up.

CEOs, founders, investors, and senior teams began asking for the same tools actors rely on when the pressure is real and the room is watching: Board meetings. Investor presentations. Media interviews. Town halls. Moments where preparation alone isn’t enough, and presence makes all the difference.

Today, I bring that training into the corporate world through Pamela Prather Coaching, where I work with executives and organizations to translate actor coaching tools into practical, applicable skills for leadership communication. My clients include Spotify, Meta (Facebook), Netflix, PepsiCo, Yale School of Management, AT&T, H.I.G. Capital, The Carlyle Group, Piper Sandler, APAX Partners, TA Associates, and many others.

What I’ve learned is this: executive presence isn’t about being louder, slicker, or more polished. It’s about knowing how to show up in your body, your voice, and your thinking.

That’s why I decided to write this new book.

This book is my way of putting years of coaching, teaching, and real-world experience into a clear, practical guide for leaders who already know the stakes. It’s for professional voice users who want tools they can actually use.

If you’ve found yourself in a high-visibility role in your career and feel you lack the tools to show up as an effective leader or presenter,  The Executive Presence Playbook is for you.
