Hello, beautiful humans! I hope you are having some time to rest and digest 2022, and that your first week of 2023 is propelling you into the year you are imagining.
For me, 2022 was a year of completing things: I finished my book, The Voice Coach’s Toolkit, which you will definitely be hearing more about as the release is scheduled for April 1st.
I completed my presidency with VASTA, the largest international organization of professional voice coaches. And, upon the culmination of my professorship at SUNY Purchase, I was rewarded with the honor of Associate Professor Emeritus. It was an incredible journey through my teaching career at UCLA, NYU, Yale School of Drama and finally wrapping up this fall. It has also been amazing to watch the careers of my former students soar on Broadway and on screen.
As you may know, Pamela Prather Coaching: Actor Coaching for Executives has been organically growing over the last 20 years. All of my clients have been through word of mouth. Quick shout out to Professor Barry Nalebuff, at Yale School of Management for starting me on that path. I now like to jokingly, yet seriously, say I went from Yale School of Drama to Yale School of Management and I am grateful to have been invited to work with the executive training programs at the Yale School of Management last year.
As I look forward to 2023, it is a year of beginnings. It is the first year I will be solely focused on Pamela Prather Coaching and my mission to coach people into achieving their peak performance in 2023.
My favorite success story from 2022:
I recently worked with the Chief Legal Counsel of a large private equity firm, who was giving a keynote to an inaugural conference of impact fund heavy hitters. She started working with me four months before the big day. At the time, she confided, “I would like to not feel terrified when I walk on stage.” After her performance she texted me and said “I knocked it out of the park!” In our follow up session, after four months of working with me, she jokingly said she thinks public speaking is now her hobby and she actually enjoys it.
I am expanding my consulting business and will have more time to dedicate to coaching, since I have wrapped up my full-time professorship. I would love to serve you and your team, and partner to help you solve your problems with some of the programs I offer. Whether for 1 person or 1,000 team members, my concierge coaching approach means that I listen to your needs and create a customized plan to help you achieve your performance goals.
